Libyan Refugees - Inflatables on Mediterranean

If you have ever been on an "Inflatable" smaller than this when sea gets to Force 4, it's not pleasant. Over 1000 people since August 2019.

The moves by Salvini and some in the Maltese/Greek governments to put up barriers and restrictions and even "let them drown" attitudes (oh yes) are short term. The only real solution is to improve conditions in places like Libya to allow these people to stay at home. No easy task, when countries are fucked over about hydrocarbons as Libya was, as Syria certainly has been, as Iraq definitely was.

The war against the people traffickers is a losing one, according to understaffed Europol and the agencies dealing with this, but trying to get stability in the home countries and never letting up against those men is the only way. NO MORE OIL WARS! RENEWABLE ENERGY!

With it's gas reserves managed and husbanded for good use and it's huge Solar Energy potential, Libya can be fantastic 10 years from now and no-one would really want to leave. That happens when the oilers and supporters of hydrocarbon money go away, one way or another. In Libya, ENI, Total and BP are severely guilty in retrospect. Whether or not the bastard gangster traffickers can ever go away, who knows, but no demand = no supply.

The Ocean Viking charity vessel, operated jointly by SOS Mediterranee and Doctors Without Borders, carried out a mission Tuesday rescuing 94 refugees and migrants off the coast of Libya.
