UNESCO on Race, Richard Dawkins and Eugenics

"The preamble of Unesco’s Constitution, adopted in 1945, specifically named racism as one of the social evils which the new Organization was called upon to combat. Moreover, the Constitution declares that ” the great and terrible war which has now ended was war made possible by the denial of the democratic principles of the dignity, equality and mutual respect of men, and by the propagation, in their place, through ignorance and prejudice, of the doctrine of the inequality of men and races".

It seems that Richard Dawkins still maintains that "Eugenics" works:

I miss Dawkins explanation as to "of course", as did many others. Without an explanation, wishes, exhortations and personal opinions mean nothing. There is no "of course" about this.

I do not "take on" anyone or try to make up my own derived views on such highly scientific subjects, just try to listen to and read those who appear to know. Dawkins is a popularised Zoologist/Biologist who seems to have a limited understanding of the areas of deep research in Genetic Science which he seems to believe he has a right to pronounce upon, despite the high profile.

The trend for some to mistrust and shout about highly trained knowledgeable people in science is alarming, even if the reasons why are well documented now.

The opinions of people I know and from the literature suggest it would almost certainly not "work" for Homo Sapiens, as the stupendously arrogant Dickie Dawks himself has admitted elsewhere in typical roundabout fashion. Details are in David Curtis words contained in the link below. You can write to Curtis, as many men have and let him know why "of course it works". Plenty already have I would imagine.

Since the "Far Right" started up blaring their lovely racist nonsense on this (again) a few years ago, there have been several who have had to jump in and point out the science behind the reasons for all of that being horrific nonsense, least of which being the UNESCO publications on Race and Racism:

There are a few men (they are always men of a certain "background") in England in recent years who have raised the spectre of Eugenics-based lovelies such as "voluntary" sterilisation of "the poor", gene manipulation for behavioural alteration and forced contraception - of humans that is, not pigs, stick insects or cows. They are almost all - to a man - hierarchists and supremecists. This is the barely acceptable thin end of a nasty wedge being wielded again by some males. Such fascists men often quote well-meaning individuals such as poor old Sir Julian Huxley, surely the best known British Eugenicist of the 20th Century and others of a certain political colouration. Huxley at least has the excuse that in his day the science of genetics was not so well understood.
