Pfizer and Operation Warp Speed

Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine is reportedly more than 90% effective, according to an analysis by an independent data monitoring committee. Pfizer plans to ask the FDA for emergency authorisation in November 2020, after collecting two months of safety data. By the end of 2020 it will have manufactured enough doses to immunize 15 to 20 million people. Pfizer did not join Operation Warp Speed [OWS], the Jared Kushner initiative to rush a vaccine to market by providing funding for research and manufacturing, but instead invested $2 billion on the project, then made a $1.95 billion deal with the U.S. government to provide 100 million doses (Ref. 1).

Operation Warp Speed originally listed eight vaccines with six at Phase 3 being encouraged to be "fast-tracked" (Refs. 2& 3). The following tabulated summary shows the organisational structure:

Dr. Fauci seems never to have been in charge, but Dr. Birx is organisationally linked to Jared Kushner and his pals who probably provide guidance (Ref. 5). Operation Warp Speed is very "Kushneresque". Peter Thiel and the Palantir crowd appear to be buzzing around like locusts somewhere behind all of that (Ref. 6).

This was written and published at end of August 2020 (Ref. 4): "Of the eight vaccines in OWS’s portfolio, six have been announced and partnerships executed with the companies: Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech (both mRNA), AstraZeneca and Janssen (both replication-defective live-vector), and Novavax and Sanofi/GSK (both recombinant-subunit-adjuvanted protein). These candidates cover three of the four platform technologies and are currently in clinical trials. The remaining two candidates will enter trials soon".

Within OWS, Dr. Fauci is reputedly just the main face-to-media, formally an advisor. Adam Boehler is CEO of "newly formed" neatly named U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) [end of 2019] and Jared Kushner's old roommate (Ref. 7). Bad smells as several senior journalists may have easily already spotted.

The OWS story by Charles Piller was published recently in Science magazine (Ref. 8) and allows people to be better informed about the most critical health issue facing humanity for just over a century.
