  There is a large segment of British society, both home and abroad, who have not been able to gain from the terrible experiences of parents and grandparents. Through no fault of their own other than choices about how and what to learn, they never heard from an early age about any invasion of their country, never read about the desecration of their family homes and so were able to learn from that. It is no accident that Japan and Germany are two very stable successful countries now whereas Britain and America are going through various political and social turmoils and attempts at shifts to authoritarianism. In parts of mainly non-Celtic Britain, mostly within certain older parts of the moderately affluent Middle Classes, a sub-group of that deeply privileged sector received, then stoked a probably detrimental surfeit of jingoistic and ersatz "Patriotism" through much of a lifetime.     Lest anyone be unsure as to the still remaining intentions of many the men remaining within what is still called the Republican Party in America, as well as their handmaidens in what is still called the Conservative Party in England. Recent comments read about the marvels and wonders of individualism in the context of  "Free Markets and Capitalism" started me thinking of passages from Ms Rand's strange and disturbing book Atlas Shrugged, which has had an influence upon quite a few males in the English-speaking world. If truth were told, probably too much influence from such an irrational and peculiar writer. The tendency in some to allocate supernatural "God-like" invisible hand powers to the phenomenon claimed to exist known as "Market Forces" also sprang to mind. That willingness to transfer and projection of responsibility for unpleasantness onto something fundamentally and necessarily unproveable, as a means of avoiding personal actions or even consideration: "An Act of Market Forces". The hope is that UK has retained enough people in position of some honesty and integrity (as in the US one hopes) and that the system has managed to be kept at least somewhat intact to get cleaning up started in 2021.           The recent series of anti-Swedish articles in the right-wing British media (Ref. 1) on that country’s government actions on COVID-19 has been noteworthy. The timing was clearly planned to match the Scottish National Party conference of the 28 th to 30 th November. A main thread of these arguments has been about “U-turns” in several areas, particularly regarding school attendance and exclusion for example. The UK Government has "U-turned" and come in for some criticism on education matters recently. The Express and Star is good example of a local news outlet in the English Midlands which at least can still probably be trusted, provides an example of this (Ref. 2).         A distinct trend has been observed in recent years within one distinctive political party in England, demonstrating inconsistency, hypocrisy, lying, contradictory advice and increasingly scant provision of evidence.
